Save the Date !!! April 2nd 2012 is Light it up BLUE for Autism Awareness. On this day many people, organizations, public building and etc will participate . The Empire State Building in NYC and various places across the WORLD lit the sky with blue lights last year in honor of this day, people wore the color blue, walk their neighborhoods with blue signs reading " I support Autism Awareness " and so many other creative things to support the Light it up Blue campaign. I'll be posting snippets of some of the things I'll be doing for the Light it up Blue campaign as well as the April is Autism Awareness Month campaign . Did you know that An estimated 1 in 110 children in the U.S. is on the autism spectrum - a 600 percent increase in the past two decades that is only partly explained by improved diagnosis. Sooooo, I ask you; what are YOU going to do to light it up BLUE for Autism on April 2nd ??? Feel free to send pics to yourpicsartistem@live.com and I will post them on the blog as well as my Facebook. Put your name (your twitter name as well) where you are from and how you Light it up BLUE. My son, family, the huge number of people and families that live and deal with Autism everyday Thanks you. Chow for now ....... Artiste Monique Source Lightitupblue.org I'm a wife and mother of twins(a girl and a boy) the boy twin is on the Autism spectrum. Autism is often referred to as an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) - because people with autism represent a broad group of people with varying degrees of disability. People on the autism spectrum normally have problems in three areas: social interaction, communicating with others, and behavioral challenges. My husband and I are passionate about helping our son as well as others affected by Autism so often in this section of the blog you will see articles and info about Autism related subjects. I hope this page will not be ignored and you visit often. Let's gain knowledge, read and understand information so we can teach and inform others. To learn more about Autism: www.autismspeaks.org/ |
