 There are moments in business when you have every answer.
And then there are moments when you simply have a plan, a vision, and the faith to take the next step. Over the past few months, I have experienced a season of transition. Artiste M Studios relocated from North Haven to Hamden, bringing both new opportunities and new challenges. Like many business owners, I’ve had moments where the path ahead wasn’t fully visible, but I kept moving forward anyway. Recently, I received support through a grant from the Women’s Business Development Council, and I am incredibly grateful. What this experience reinforced for me is something I often tell other entrepreneurs: Believe in your business. Make a plan. Take a chance. Have a future outlook. And most importantly, know your numbers. A business is a lot like a garden. You have to be willing to sow into it long before you see the harvest. The planning, the learning, the sacrifices, the investments, and the consistency all happen before the visible results arrive. This grant didn’t appear because I had everything figured out. It appeared during a season when I was actively building, planning, forecasting, and preparing for what was to come. Opportunities often meet us while we’re in motion. As I continue building Artiste M Studios, expanding creative projects through Lyrics Avenue Creative Group, and stepping further into what I call The Bridge Era, I remain grateful for every lesson, every challenge, and every opportunity to grow. To every entrepreneur reading this: Keep going. Trust the process. The next step matters more than having the entire staircase mapped out.   On Friday, May 22, 2026, Artiste M Studios officially closed the chapter on Suite 417 in North Haven, CT, a space that helped shape years of creativity, growth, client relationships, and transformation.
Since 2018, Artiste M Studios has specialized in crochet braids, protective styles, and healthy hair-focused services designed to help clients feel confident, comfortable, and cared for. What began as a salon suite evolved into a creative beauty space rooted in consistency, education, professionalism, and intention. Now, a new chapter begins. Artiste M Studios is officially transitioning to Hamden, CT, as part of a larger evolution known as “The Bridge Era.” What Is The Bridge Era? The Bridge Era represents a shift towards intentional healthy hair care, maintenance, education, and long-term hair goals. More than just appointments, this season is centered around bridging the gap between: * Protective styling * Healthy hair maintenance * Consistency * Restoration * Sustainable hair growth goals At Artiste M Studios, crochet braids and protective styles are designed to support both beauty and hair health before, during, and after each install. This new era focuses on: * Preparing the hair properly * Maintaining moisture and scalp health * Restoring the hair after protective styles * Supporting long-term healthy hair journeys Now Transitioning to Hamden, CT Artiste M Studios is currently transitioning to a new location in Hamden, CT, while preparing a permanent, upgraded studio space within the building. Temporary June appointments will continue during the transition period as the next chapter of Artiste M Studios is built with intention and care.
